30 Day BJD Challenge: Day 20
Day 20: What is your dream doll?
I have three that are all about equal in the overall scheme of things. I am lucky enough to own two of them. I’ll talk about these two here and save the 3rd for another post.
The first is a Soom Beryl Never-Ending Dream. She is the first doll I ever fell hard for and, like so many others, I came to the hobby too late to be able to buy her from the company. I loved her pouty face. She was the first realistic sculpt I had seen with major attitude, and I wanted her from the first time I saw her. It took me over a year to find her and, in the end, I drastically overpaid for what she was worth. I didn’t care then. I still don’t care now. Now that I have her, I’m surprised by the range of expression she has. From pouty to full-on pissed to incredibly melancholy. She is one of my most versatile dolls.

The second was another Soom girl, Vesuvia Poison Kiss. It took her a while to grow on me. Soom severely mis-marketed her and failed to bring out the beauty of her sculpt. She looked young and, well, trampy. It was a bad combination, IMO.
It was only after I started seeing owner photos of her that I realized how mature, elegant and beautiful she was, and how I’d really missed out by being so quick to pass on her. Given how rare she is (I think she might be the least-produced MD doll ever), I figured I would never be lucky enough to snag her. Again, I drastically overpaid. Again, I don’t care.
Added bonuses: Pearly! violet skin and giant, jointed scorpion tail, which you can see part of in this photo.
