Today’s doll portrait sessions:  Dante (modded Iplehouse Sleeping Ryushin), Iris (Soom Cuprit Black Frost), Jessamy (Soom Io scarred), Laira (Soom Onyx Light), Medivh (Soom Chalco Forest King) and Ralston (Leeke Lionel)

Personal notes:  

  • Dante is an awesome bastard, no matter which way you shoot him.
  • OMG, I picture where Iris doesn’t look pissed!
  • OMG, a picture where Laira doesn’t look sad.
  • Tan resin should not be more of a bitch to photograph than white resin.
  • Rawley (the one with the beard) has exactly one good angle and you’re looking at it.  Every photo of him ever will be from roughly this angle.

30 Day BJD Challenge: Day 26

Day 26: Done your own face-ups?

No, though again, I want to learn one day.  Truth is, I don’t have the required patience.  Plus, for me, a lot of the fun is finding the perfect artist to commission to get the look I want for a doll.  I fear if I did everything with my own hand, the look would be very uniform throughout my dolls, and that is the absolute last thing I want. Seeing how different two different artists can make the same sculpt, or visualize the same description is one of my absolute favorite aspects of the hobby.

Artorius (top) and Jessamy are the exact same sculpt.  Hard to believe, yes?

30 Day BJD Challenge: Day 7

Day 7: Smallest size you own?

My Iplehouse Tania, who is around 45cm (hint: she’s the short one in the photo).  She is the only doll I own that’s not in the 558-65cm range.  I used to own a tiny, but we didn’t click.
